Baking cookies together during the Christmas season
The Christmas season is magical - especially for children. Fairy lights twinkle, the smell of cinnamon and vanilla fills the air and the kitchen becomes the center of family life. Naturally, the little ones want to be there to help bake the cookies. This is where the learning tower comes into play! It allows children to safely participate in the baking process at eye level and take their first steps as little bakers.
Why a learning tower is indispensable during the Christmas season
A learning tower brings children safely to the height of the worktop and allows them to actively participate in baking cookies. From rolling out the dough to decorating the cookies - with the learning tower, children become real kitchen helpers. The secure stand and stable construction of the tiSsi® "FELIX" learning tower ensure that the little ones can move around freely without parents having to worry about them falling.
At the same time, helping out in the kitchen encourages children's motor skills, independence and self-confidence. They experience how small delicacies are made from simple ingredients and can develop their creativity in the process.
Simple recipe for Christmas cookies
Here is an easy recipe that is guaranteed to make children's eyes light up:
Ingredients:
- 250 g flour
- 125 g cold butter (cut into small pieces)
- 100 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- A pinch of salt
- Sugar sprinkles or icing for the decoration
Preparation:
1. Make the dough: Knead the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, butter and egg into a smooth dough in a bowl using your hands or a mixer. Wrap the dough in cling film and leave to rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
2. Roll out and cut out: Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 5 mm on a floured work surface. Cut out stars, hearts or Christmas trees using Christmas cookie cutters.
3. Bake: Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake at 180 °C (top/bottom heat) for approx. 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
4. Decorate: After cooling, the cookies can be painted with icing or decorated with sprinkles as desired.
More than baking: creating shared experiences
With a learning tower, baking cookies becomes a real family experience. Children love being actively involved, snacking and admiring their creations. At the same time, parents can be sure that the little ones have a stable and protected place in the kitchen.
With a tiSsi® learning tower, you are not only giving your child the gift of safety during the Christmas season, but also unforgettable moments that will enrich family life.
